PHOENIX — Three people were killed overnight in what appeared to be a double-murder suicide in Phoenix, authorities said.
Officers responded to the area near 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road shortly before midnight and found a man in front of an apartment who had been shot to death, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
A witness told authorities they saw the suspect force a woman inside the apartment and then heard shots, police said.
The Special Assignment Unit entered the apartment and found a woman who had been shot to death and the suspect was dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said the investigation indicates the suspect is the ex-boyfriend of the woman who was killed and the man who was dead outside of the apartment was the current boyfriend.
